Join this class and take a deep dive into the world of forensic science! Students will learn to investigate age-appropriate “crime scenes” and “mysteries” with forensic methodologies: taking photographs and physical measurements; recording eye-witness accounts: and collecting and examining evidence with magnifying glasses like fingerprints, footprints and fibers. Young investigators will learn the importance of proper evidence handling by maintaining the “chain of custody” and will learn and use other detective vocabulary and methodology to build persuasive and credible investigations. Finally, participants will use direct observation, deductive reasoning, and recorded evidence to draw logical conclusions to solve “crimes” and generate final reports.
