This STEM class is for kids who want to try their hand at creating video games, animations, and applications by learning how to code. Students will start with fundamental concepts using Scratch, an easy-to-understand, block-based, drag & drop coding language. Kids will also be able to apply their new coding knowledge to create a playable video game they can share with friends using a more advanced game development platform.

Teddy Murphy brings six years of experience teaching STEM subjects in both classroom and camp settings. He emphasizes a project-centered learning approach that allows students to cultivate their skills while exploring their unique interests. Teddy's teaching portfolio includes instructing coding through Scratch, a user-friendly drag-and-drop coding language that lays a strong foundation in programming logic. Additionally, he has expertise in Lego Robotics, 3D Printing and Modeling, and is eager to introduce students to professional coding languages such as Python and Javascript.

Beyond technology, Teddy has also taught Life Sciences and is deeply committed to inspiring students to connect with the world around them. He encourages them to explore objective truth and meaning in the natural world. Teddy is enthusiastic about returning to DASEP and continuing his educational journey with students.
