Does your child like working creatively with ceramics? In this class, students will have the opportunity to explore two primary ceramics media: mosaic tiles and clay. Mosaic is one of the oldest art forms in the world. Not only are mosaics beautiful and lasting, but they are a unique artistic activity that encourages fine small-motor skills and vivid imagination by using colorful tiles to create mosaics of many types. We also will hand-build two and three-dimensional clay pieces that will be fired in a kiln and then glazed. We will even incorporate some of our handmade clay pieces Into our beautiful mosaics--creating truly one-of-a-kind masterpieces!
