If you like the Wizard of Oz...you'll absolutely love Wicked!

Join DASEP Musical Theater for our musical interpretation of the movie and Broadway musical. "Wicked" is a prequel story to The Wizard of Oz that tells the origin of the Wicked Witch of the West, Elphaba, and her complex friendship with Glinda the Good Witch of the North. It reinterprets the classic tale from the perspective of the "villain," exploring the theme of friendship and the idea that there are two sides to every story. The story highlights Elphaba's journey into how she became the fearsome wicked witch.

Our show will be partly  based on the 2024 part 1 movie as well as the upcoming part 2 movie. We will meet on Thursdays in the multipurpose room 2:45-4:45.

Rehearsals include acting games, helping to write the script, choreography, musical numbers, dialogue, costumes, and even watching the movie version of Wicked!

The class will end with a final, professional production and evening performance  in the FRR multipurpose room on an evening mid-February TBD, to which families and community members will be invited.

Note:  Open to grades 2-5, this is a 2-hour class, meeting every Thursday-- including the early release days of 11/06 and 11/20--plus extra rehearsals  leading up to the final performance date. Cost includes two co-directors, costume designer, lighting and sound techicians and substantial materials for costumes and props.
