Featuring the iconic song “We Don’t Talk About Bruno”, Encanto follows a multigenerational Colombian family, the Madrigals, who help the people in their rural community using their magical gifts. When the Madrigals begin to lose their magic, they find they must confront their past — and strange visions of their future — if they hope to keep their powers.

As we learn and rehearse this story (and its incredible music), we’ll play acting games, study our script, choreograph dances, sing songs, practice dialogue, create costumes, and much more!

The class will end with a final, professional production and evening performance in the FRR multipurpose room on an evening TBD in the second week of June, to which families and community members will be invited.

Note: Open to grades 2-5, this is a 2-hour class, meeting every Thursday — including the FRR early release days of April 16 and May 7 — leading up to the final performance date. There will also likely be 3 additional evening rehearsals the week leading up to the show.

Cost includes two co-directors, a costume designer, lighting and sound technicians and substantial materials for costumes and props.
