Njomza Xhaferi is a pianist, educator and collaborative musician based in Boston. She currently is completing her Graduate Performance Diploma at the Longy School of Music of Bard College. She holds a Master’s degree in Piano Performance from the Music Academy of Zagreb, University of Zagreb (MUZA) and a Bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Music Arts in Skopje, North Macedonia.
Raised and educated in Switzerland, the United States, North Macedonia and Croatia, Njomza brings a broad international perspective to both her performance and teaching. She has over five years of teaching experience, working with students of various ages and levels in Croatia, North Macedonia and the United States. An active performer, Njomza has appeared in concerts throughout Europe, the United States, and Asia, notably Switzerland, Italy, Croatia, North Macedonia, Malaysia, Denmark, Hungary, Kosovo, and the Czech Republic. She is a multiple first-prize winner in international competitions for solo piano and chamber music, and she has participated in numerous international music festivals. In addition to her work as a soloist, Njomza is an experienced accompanist and collaborative pianist, regularly working with instrumentalists and vocalists. She is deeply committed to fostering musical growth through both performance and education and continues to engage actively with the international music community. Njomza is especially passionate about teaching elementary and middle school-aged students of all backgrounds and levels, and she is very excited to join DASEP as a piano instructor.
