DASEP's tennis program will run rain or shine! As much as possible, students will be playing regular, outdoor tennis. In inclement weather, students will transition to table tennis (ping pong)! No matter the weather, kids will be active and playing tennis on either tables or courts! Please have your child bring a racket on tennis days, but if you don't own one, DASEP has a limited number of rackets on hand to lend students. DASEP will also provide all ping pong equipment. Students should wear comfortable clothing and sneakers.

Eglis Bizhoti
Originally from a small town in Albania, Eglis (known at DASEP as "Coach E") came to Boston over 15 years ago. He has been involved in sports his whole life. He played collegiate tennis at the UMass Boston for 4 years, then coached UMass Boston Men’s and Women’s Tennis. Currently, he hold the position of Assistant Coach of the MIT Men's Tennis team. Since sports and games--especially tennis--have had a huge impact on his own life, Eglis is passionate about helping others have the same great experience—especially kids. In addition to collegiate tennis, Eglis led a youth sports program at the YMCA for soccer, tennis and basketball and has extensive experience working with young people on and off the court, from running summer camps to private tutoring. Eglis believes that sports are a great vehicle for all kids to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. Also, sports provide an opportunity to compete and work with others, as well as to make friends--skills that translate really well to all parts of life. Coach E is looking forward to returning to DASEP for his 5th year, leading tennis, ping pong and othert fun and engaging games!
